Sometimes you fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. At other times it can be a deeply frustrating process. Here are a selection of members’ tips to help you fall asleep and improve the quality of your sleep once you’ve dozed off.

37. Put your body to sleep in tiny pieces. Start at the bottom with your toes and imagine them relaxing and 'falling asleep' one by one. Then move onto your ankles, then your calves, knees, thighs, hips, stomach, chest, arms, elbows, wrists, fingers and then finally your neck, ears, nose, eyes.
This is an exercise in concentration, but also meditation. It's about focussing on the small things and having a real awareness of your physical self, which can often be useful when your brain is cluttered.
36.When you get into bed close your eyes and think through everything you’ve done that day, starting with waking up and showering etc. Think about what you had for breakfast and mentally take yourself through the day, like walking to work across the park, and entering the building and sitting down in your seat and remind yourself of the conversations you had with your family, friends or colleagues. Basically this is a way of making sure you don't miss anything, Often we spend so much of our time just 'getting through the day' that we forget the little parts of it that make up the whole.

29.Write down all the stuff that’s spinning round in your head & deal with it the next day.
